As the leaves change color and the air turns crisp, Fall offers a wealth of seasonal activities to enjoy. Here are 7 fun things to do during the Fall season!
We love all four seasons, but fall always holds a special place in our hearts. Once you hit September, it really is a kick-off point to the rest of the “Holiday” months. As we enter Fall, we try not to have a weekend where we aren’t out doing something to enjoy the change in weather and season.
Here are 7 of our favorite ways to celebrate the Fall season:
Visit a Pumpkin Patch
Nothing says fall quite like a trip to the pumpkin patch. Spend an afternoon selecting the perfect pumpkin for carving, sipping on warm apple cider, and enjoying hayrides with family and friends. Not only do you get to spend the day picking out the perfect pumpkin, but then you can come home, put on your favorite movie, and carve it into a spooky-cute Jack O Lantern!
Go Apple Picking
If you’ve never had a fresh Apple off the tree, this year is your time to make it happen! Many orchards offer apple picking during the fall months. It’s a great way to enjoy the outdoors, and you’ll come home with fresh, delicious apples for pies, cider, or simple snacking. It’s also a great option if you’re looking to enjoy the season on a budget, as most apple orchards allow you to pick apples for a cheap price.
Attend a Fall Festival
Search for fall festivals in your area. These events often feature local crafts, seasonal foods, live music, and activities for all ages. It’s a great way to immerse yourself in the season and support your local community.
Decorate for Halloween
Get into the spooky spirit by shopping for Halloween decorations. Whether you prefer cute and friendly or creepy and scary, decorating your home can be a fun creative outlet. We always like to plan a day (usually in September) where we’ll get a bunch of Halloween-themed snacks and we’ll spend the day creating the perfect Halloween home with all of our decorations!
Take a Scenic Drive
Seeing the leaves change colors in the Fall is one of the most beautiful things to witness. If you live in an area with deciduous trees, take a drive to admire the changing foliage. Pack a picnic and make a day of it, stopping at scenic overlooks to fully appreciate nature’s autumn show. This is also a great excuse to plan a weekend trip!
Create a Cozy Reading Nook
As the weather cools, it’s the perfect time to create a cozy spot for reading. Gather soft blankets, plump pillows, and your favorite books. Don’t forget a mug of hot chocolate or spiced tea to complete the autumn mood.
Try Fall-Themed Cooking or Baking
Embrace seasonal flavors by trying new recipes. Experiment with pumpkin spice, apple cinnamon, or hearty soups and stews. Baking a pie from scratch with your freshly picked apples can be especially rewarding!
